We’re so excited to share a recent furnishings and remodel project we just wrapped up—this one has been a labor of love, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see it all come together. Our clients in Maple Valley, Washington, had just moved into their new home and reached out to us for help transforming their living room into a warm, welcoming space that felt like them.
Their vision was clear: they wanted a cozy, inviting room that was ideal for conversation, family time, and quiet evenings at home—without sacrificing style. Our goal was to strike the perfect balance between comfort and sophistication, and we couldn’t be happier with the end result.
We began with a neutral foundation to keep the space feeling airy and timeless, then layered in rich Northwest-inspired tones for a subtle pop of color. Think deep forest greens, earthy rusts, and soft charcoal—all inspired by the natural landscape of the Pacific Northwest. These tones helped ground the space and make it feel more lived-in and relaxed.
One of the standout architectural features in the room is the set of rustic wood ceiling beams. To get just the right tone, we experimented with 12 different stain combinations before landing on the perfect warm, weathered finish that ties the whole room together. These beams add a beautiful sense of structure and warmth to the room, and really enhance the overall character of the home.

The custom built-ins were already installed when our clients moved in, but thoughtful styling was key to giving them a polished, designer feel. We curated a mix of books, pottery, art, and personal pieces to make the shelves feel intentional and beautifully balanced. It's these finishing touches that turn a house into a home.
When it came to furniture, we focused on layering texture to bring depth and dimension to the space. We combined leather, rattan, wood, and velvet to create a tactile, visually engaging experience that feels both elevated and approachable. Our clients were also open to playing with pattern and color, which gave us the opportunity to bring in a pair of custom upholstered chairs that truly bring the room to life. They add just the right amount of bold personality without overwhelming the space.
We completed the look with transitional sconces, ambient lighting, and lots of fresh greenery to breathe energy and warmth into the room. The end result is a space that feels lived-in, loved, and reflective of the people who call it home.
