Refund/Cancellation Policy

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

McGraw Interiors
Seattle, Washington

Effective Date: September 28, 2026
Last Updated: September 28, 2026

At McGraw Interiors, we dedicate professional time, creative resources, planning, and vendor coordination to every interior design project. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the terms applicable to cancellations, refunds, design fees, consultations, product purchases, custom orders, and other services provided by McGraw Interiors (“McGraw Interiors,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By booking a consultation, approving a proposal, purchasing products, paying a deposit or retainer, or engaging McGraw Interiors for services, you acknowledge and agree to this policy, subject to applicable law and any project-specific written agreement.

1. DESIGN CONSULTATIONS

Consultation fees compensate McGraw Interiors for professional time reserved specifically for the client.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, consultation fees are nonrefundable once the consultation has been completed.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a consultation, we ask that you provide at least 48 hours' notice.

Consultations canceled with at least 48 hours' notice may be rescheduled without an additional scheduling fee, subject to availability.

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled consultation, or failure to attend a scheduled consultation, may result in forfeiture of the consultation fee.

McGraw Interiors may, at its discretion, make reasonable exceptions for emergencies or extraordinary circumstances.

2. DESIGN FEES

Fees for design work compensate McGraw Interiors for professional expertise, creative development, research, sourcing, planning, design preparation, administrative work, and other services.

Once design services have been performed, fees attributable to completed work are nonrefundable except where otherwise required by law.

This applies whether or not the client ultimately implements the design recommendations.

3. DEPOSITS AND RETAINERS

McGraw Interiors may require a deposit or retainer before reserving project time or beginning services.

The applicable proposal or client agreement will identify the purpose of the payment and whether it is refundable.

If a client cancels after work has begun, McGraw Interiors may apply the deposit or retainer toward services already performed, time reserved where permitted by the applicable agreement and law, approved expenses, or other amounts properly due.

Any refundable balance, if applicable, will be calculated after outstanding project obligations have been determined.

4. PROJECT CANCELLATION BY THE CLIENT

A client may request cancellation of a design project by providing written notice to McGraw Interiors.

Upon cancellation, the client remains responsible for amounts properly due for:

  • Design services already performed;

  • Approved products and materials;

  • Orders already placed;

  • Noncancelable or custom merchandise;

  • Vendor cancellation or restocking fees;

  • Shipping and freight charges;

  • Receiving and storage charges;

  • Delivery expenses;

  • Contractor or third-party commitments authorized by the client;

  • Reimbursable project expenses; and

  • Other costs incurred on the client's behalf before cancellation.

McGraw Interiors will provide any refund due after applicable outstanding charges and contractual obligations have been accounted for.

5. CANCELLATION BY McGRAW INTERIORS

McGraw Interiors reserves the right to suspend or terminate a project when reasonably necessary, including for:

  • Nonpayment;

  • Repeated failure to provide required approvals or information;

  • Unsafe working or site conditions;

  • Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or inappropriate conduct;

  • Requests for unlawful activity;

  • Material breach of a project agreement; or

  • Circumstances that make continued performance impracticable.

If McGraw Interiors terminates a project, the client's account will be reviewed and any amounts properly due or refundable will be determined in accordance with the applicable project agreement and law.

6. FURNITURE, FIXTURES, DÉCOR AND MATERIALS

Furniture, lighting, artwork, accessories, rugs, textiles, wallpaper, fixtures, and other products sourced or purchased through McGraw Interiors are subject to the applicable manufacturer's or vendor's cancellation and return policies.

An order is not guaranteed to be cancelable simply because it has not yet been delivered.

Once an order has been submitted to a vendor, manufacturer, artisan, or supplier, McGraw Interiors cannot guarantee that the order can be modified or canceled.

7. CUSTOM AND SPECIAL-ORDER ITEMS

Custom, made-to-order, special-order, personalized, altered, cut, fabricated, or otherwise specially sourced products are generally FINAL SALE once the order has been placed, except where otherwise required by law or permitted by the applicable vendor.

Examples may include:

  • Custom furniture;

  • Upholstered furniture;

  • Custom upholstery;

  • Window treatments;

  • Fabric;

  • Wallpaper;

  • Custom rugs;

  • Custom cabinetry;

  • Made-to-order lighting;

  • Custom artwork;

  • Specialty finishes;

  • Fabricated stone or surfaces; and

  • Other personalized or made-to-order products.

Clients should carefully review all specifications, measurements, finishes, fabrics, colors, quantities, and pricing before approving custom merchandise.

8. CLIENT-APPROVED ORDERS

Once a client has approved an item and authorized McGraw Interiors to place an order, the client is responsible for that purchase subject to the applicable vendor's policies.

Client approval may be provided through a signed proposal, electronic signature, email, text message, client portal, invoice payment, or another mutually accepted written or electronic method.

Changes requested after approval may result in additional costs.

9. RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

If a vendor permits a product to be returned or exchanged, McGraw Interiors may assist the client with the process.

The client may be responsible for costs associated with a return or exchange, including:

  • Vendor restocking fees;

  • Return shipping;

  • Freight charges;

  • Packaging;

  • Pickup or delivery fees;

  • Receiving charges;

  • Storage charges;

  • Administrative or processing expenses; and

  • Other costs associated with the return.

Original shipping, freight, receiving, storage, delivery, installation, and similar charges may be nonrefundable.

Products must generally be returned in their original condition and packaging when required by the applicable vendor.

10. DAMAGED, DEFECTIVE OR INCORRECT ITEMS

Clients should inspect merchandise promptly following delivery or installation.

Any apparent damage, defect, missing item, or incorrect merchandise should be reported to McGraw Interiors as soon as reasonably possible, preferably with photographs and a description of the issue.

McGraw Interiors will make reasonable efforts to assist with claims involving the applicable vendor, manufacturer, freight company, or delivery provider.

Available remedies may include repair, replacement, vendor credit, or refund depending upon the circumstances and the applicable vendor or manufacturer's policies.

McGraw Interiors does not manufacture third-party products and cannot guarantee the outcome of claims controlled by an independent manufacturer, vendor, freight carrier, or supplier.

11. NATURAL VARIATIONS

Variations in natural and handcrafted materials are expected and generally are not considered defects.

These variations may include differences in:

  • Wood grain;

  • Natural stone;

  • Marble;

  • Leather;

  • Fabric;

  • Metal finishes;

  • Handmade products;

  • Dye lots;

  • Texture;

  • Color; and

  • Dimensions.

Colors displayed on computer screens, mobile devices, photographs, renderings, or printed materials may also differ from the actual product.

Reasonable variations of this nature generally do not qualify an item for a refund unless otherwise provided by the vendor or required by law.

12. SHIPPING, DELIVERY AND VENDOR DELAYS

Estimated production, shipping, and delivery dates are not guarantees.

Delays caused by manufacturers, vendors, freight carriers, customs, supply-chain interruptions, weather, labor shortages, material shortages, delivery providers, or other circumstances outside McGraw Interiors' reasonable control do not automatically entitle the client to a refund.

If a vendor cancels an order or permanently discontinues an unavailable product, McGraw Interiors will work with the client to determine an appropriate replacement, credit, or refund based upon the amount recoverable from the vendor and the applicable project agreement.

13. CHANGE OF MIND

A client's change in personal preference after approving a design, material, finish, color, product, or custom order does not automatically qualify the purchase or associated design services for a refund.

McGraw Interiors will make reasonable efforts to assist with modifications when possible. Any additional costs resulting from the requested change will generally be the client's responsibility.

14. PROJECT DELAYS

Project delays caused by product availability, manufacturing, construction, contractors, vendors, shipping, freight, weather, supply-chain conditions, client approvals, or other circumstances outside McGraw Interiors' reasonable control do not automatically constitute grounds for a refund.

McGraw Interiors will make reasonable efforts to communicate material delays and assist with reasonable alternatives when appropriate.

15. DIGITAL DESIGN SERVICES

For virtual or electronic design services, including digital mood boards, floor plans, design concepts, shopping lists, specifications, renderings, or similar deliverables, fees for work already performed are generally nonrefundable.

Once final digital design materials have been delivered, the associated design service will be considered substantially completed unless the applicable agreement states otherwise.

16. REFUND PROCESSING

When McGraw Interiors determines that a refund is due, the refund will generally be issued to the original payment method when reasonably practicable.

Processing times may vary depending upon the bank, credit card issuer, payment processor, or other financial institution.

Refunds do not include nonrefundable third-party fees or expenses unless otherwise required by law.

17. CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES

Clients are encouraged to contact McGraw Interiors promptly regarding billing concerns so that we have an opportunity to review and address the matter.

Nothing in this section prevents a client from exercising rights available under applicable consumer-protection, credit-card, banking, or other laws.

18. EXCEPTIONS REQUIRED BY LAW

Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy is intended to eliminate, restrict, or waive a consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be waived under applicable federal, Washington State, or local law.

If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable legal requirement will control.

19. RELATIONSHIP TO CLIENT AGREEMENT

Individual projects may have cancellation, deposit, procurement, or refund provisions tailored to the specific engagement.

If a signed project agreement contains terms that expressly conflict with this general policy, the signed project agreement will control with respect to that project, subject to applicable law.
